10 Years of Excellence
In 2008 Bonita Learning Academy™ celebrated its 10 year Anniversary. The families who have shared this journey with us can understand what an important milestone this represents. Bonita Learning Academy™ was the seed of a bilingual education movement. As we take our memory back to the summer of 1995, B.L.A.™ began as part of the America’s Cultural Training Institute, a bilingual preschool and Spanish school project that was opened and then developed in the Eastlake community. As demand for high quality preschool education and the need for Spanish development grew, so did the need for space and an environment that was appropriate for children.
In the year 1998 Bonita Learning Academy™ opened its doors to its new location on Bonita Road with the vision to provide children not just a higher academic standard but a bilingual one. At that time bilingual education in the United States was a rather new concept, more so at the preschool and Kindergarten levels. This ambitious concept would need a great deal of support and trust from enrolling families whom we acknowledge and thank. These families begun this journey with us with their trust and unconditional support. Ten years after the inception of our school, the public education system in Southern California has increased its number of bilingual immersion programs at the elementary school level. While we do not take credit for this wonderful accomplishment we do feel extremely proud to have been pioneers of this phenomenon and are grateful to those who took a chance with us.
Every year our children bring forth new challenges, raising the bar and pushing the limits. We will continue to explore new learning techniques alongside our youngest of teachers, as we have done from the very first day with our very first students.
